Assessment

Assessments are often described as formative or summative.   Common formative assessments are developed when teachers work together to develop assessments which show the learning process of their students and use the results together to inform instruction and intervene to help all student learn. Summative assessments are usually used at the end of a learning block to assess student mastery of new content. 

• Georgia has written full units which include scaffolding, constructing, practice, and assessment tasks for K-8.
• Illustrative Mathematics has a great collection of assessments tasks and the teachers at Core Academy have been putting together their own collection as well.
